Amy’s Spinach Pizza Review

While we don’t eat much frozen pizza in our house, the main brand that we will eat from time to time is Amy’s Organic frozen pizzas.

Most grocery stores carry these, including Whole Foods, Kroger, Albertson’s, Meijer, and Walmart.

They cost just under $8 most of the time, though prices vary by store and location.

The reason that we buy the Spinach version of the frozen Amy’s pizza is because it makes a great blank palette for other toppings.

Part of the reason for that is because the cheese that comes on the frozen Amy’s pizza is not exactly plentiful.

One thing for sure here, if you were to cook this frozen pizza as-is, it would definitely not look at cheesy as it does on the picture you see on the box.

That being said, it is still a pretty tasty little frozen pizza if you want a quick frozen pizza at home.

But, I think it’s a pretty good start to a pizza where you add more cheese and toppings on your own.

And you can add pretty much any topping to it that you want.

Whenever I buy this frozen pizza, the extra toppings that I add vary depending on what all I have on-hand at the time.

Today, I had some bell peppers and mushrooms that I needed to use before they went bad, so that’s what I added to the top of this spinach and cheese pizza.

You can see how I just distributed the cut mushrooms and bell peppers to the top of the pizza, right on top of the frozen cheese.

I also added a bit more shredded mozzarella to cover the veggies before putting the pizza in the oven to bake.

You cook this Amy’s spinach pizza at 425F degrees for around 13 minutes, or until your preferred doneness is reached.

Here’s what my cooked Amy’s spinach pizza with extra mushrooms, bell peppers, and mozzarella looked like when it came out of the oven and was sliced.

Not counting the extra toppings that I added, this entire Amy’s pizza is just under 1,000 calories.

So, eating half of this pizza would bring you in at around 450 calories + the calories of any extra toppings that you add to the pizza before baking it.

Just something to keep in mind, if you’re a calorie counter.

Overall, while I do enjoy the taste of this organic frozen pizza the way it comes in the box, I much prefer it when I add my own toppings to it.

So, if you’re looking for an easy way to make a pizza at home that doesn’t require starting from scratch, then this is it.

It’s a time saver and cheaper than getting a similar quality pizza from a local restaurant.
