If you’re considering bringing a little bit of the gym into your home, then you might be considering buying a Peloton bike. And if you’re anything like me, then you’re probably wondering about the heaviness of the indoor stationary bike.
Are you wondering – how heavy is the Peloton bike? Can I move it around my house by myself, or will I need someone else to help me?
You might also be wondering what’s the weight limit capacity for the Peloton?
We’ve got the answers to all those questions for you right here.
Is It Heavy? What’s The Peloton Bike Weight
If you’ve ever had to move home gym equipment, then you already know that most of this stuff is not light. However, this one does seem to be around the average weight for a indoor spin bike.
As of the April 2020, the current version of the Peloton bike weighs 138 pounds (62.6 kg).
Older models of the bike have a different total weight, so keep that in mind if you’re buying a used model.
You can alway check the user manual that came with the bike (if you already bought one) to see the weight of your model. (look at the specifications on page 7)
So, can you move the bike on your own? Only you know that. Fortunately, there are wheels on it so that you can roll it when you move it, which means that it does not need to be lifted and carried – unless you’re going up or down stairs.
Is The Peloton Bike Easy To Move?
If you’ve ever had to move any fitness equipment in the past, then you should be well acquainted with how this should go for you. There are wheels on one end of the base, so you just have to lift up at the other end and steer it on it’s wheels to wherever you want to move the bike to in your home.
With a gross weight of 138 pounds, it is a bit of a heavy lift – at least for me! It’s a good idea to have a second person holding the handlebars while you lift from the rear stabilizer.
Be smart about it and lift with your knees instead of with your back. And remember, there’s no shame in asking for someone help you make it a team lift. The last thing you want is to get injured and not be able to use the bike until you recover.
Of course, the dimensions of the Peloton bike might help you know how easy or difficult moving it will be for you on your own.
How Big Is The Peloton Bike?
Yes, this is a large piece of home gym equipment. You’re going to need a good amount of space for it and it might be awkward for you to move if you are a small person.
What’s the footprint of the Peloton bike? 4′ L x 2′ W
This bike has a height of 4′ 10″, so it’s a pretty good size. And you’ll need to allow a clearance of 24” (60 cm) on each side of the bike.
What’s The Maximum User Weight Limit On The Peloton?
With the current April 2020 model, the maximum weight limit capacity of the Peloton bike is 297 pounds. And the weight holder capacity is 3 pounds.
This weight limit is listed directly in the current model’s user manual.
As you can see, this bike is only good for some heavy people – but not all overweight people. So, if you weigh in at over 300 pounds, then you are too heavy to use this indoor spinning bike.

If you are always on off-road travels, you need a bike more durable and heavy. So, how much does a bike weigh? The average weight of a typical road bike would be 18lbs. The road bike-style hybrid bikes weigh 26lbs while cruiser-style hybrid bikes come in 32lbs. Mountain bikes are one of the heaviest kinds. They can weigh up to 28lbs because of the extra gears that come with them. I think you can be more confident on highways when riding heavy bikes.
If you prefer better acceleration and need to transport your bike from one place to another, lighter ones are your best choice.
Because anyone heavier than this and using a bicycle can damage it. Therefore, the weight limit on the Peloton is an important piece of information to know before buying. There are alternative stationary bikes for heavier users. As a result, knowing the Peloton bike weight is essential.
